The Green Bay Packers trailed by 17 points in the third quarter before holding on to defeat the Carolina Panthers 27-19 on Thursday night. Jordan Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards and three touchdowns, while Josh Jacobs ran for 39 yards and two scores in the victory.

Love connected with Tucker Kraft on a 12-yard third-and-8 play early in the game. He later threw a 24-yard touchdown to Matthew Golden in the left corner of the end zone. The third score came on a short pass to Jacobs, extending the lead to 27-10. The Packers also managed a fourth-quarter interception by Zakee Wheatley in the end zone.

Christian Watson suffered a chest injury after making a 53-yard catch in the second quarter. He was transported to a hospital before returning to the field for the remainder of the game. Panthers cornerback Will Lee suffered a hamstring injury on the same play and was carted to the locker room.

Carolina’s comeback attempt began after the Packers turned the ball over. Bryce Young threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Coker on fourth down with 5:37 remaining. The lead narrowed to 27-19 after an incomplete two-point conversion pass.

The Panthers regained possession at their own 45-yard line but lost the ball on downs at midfield with 2:41 left. They had one final chance from the 20-yard line with 22 seconds remaining. A sack by Dani Dennis-Sutton ended the drive with no timeouts left.

Young finished 23 of 31 for 209 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Chuba Hubbard carried 22 times for 81 yards and a touchdown. He also caught seven passes for 38 yards.

The Packers honored former President and CEO Bob Harlan during halftime. His name was unveiled on the northeast facade of Lambeau Field next to former general manager Ted Thompson. Harlan served as team president from 1989 to 2008 and died on March 5 at age 89.

Members of the Milwaukee Brewers also attended the game. Team captain Christian Yelich and pitcher Jacob Misiorowski received applause. Brandon Woodruff held the Commissioner’s Trophy during a timeout. The team is scheduled to face the Denver Broncos on November 8, while the Packers travel to the New England Patriots on the same date.
