The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-19 on Sunday night to end the defending champions' perfect start to the 2026 season. The victory marked the first loss for Kansas City, which had won its first six games. Seattle improved its standing by stopping the Chiefs' receiving corps, which combined for only 39 yards in the defeat.

The game featured a historic performance by Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He finished with 129 receiving yards in the first half, the most for him in any half of his career. According to ESPN Research, Smith-Njigba became the first player in the Super Bowl era to record at least 850 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns in a team's first seven games of a season. His total receiving yards for the year now stand at 867.

The Chiefs' offense struggled against a Seattle defense that played two deep safeties for much of the contest. Running back Kenneth Walker III, who entered the game leading the league with 665 rushing yards, was limited to 36 yards on 14 carries. Seattle did not allow him to gain 10 or more yards on a single carry. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 165 yards, his lowest output in four games, and has not thrown a touchdown in his past two matchups.

Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards. He was intercepted in the final seconds of the first half, his eighth interception in five games. Despite that mistake, he avoided sacks for the first time in three weeks and threw for a touchdown. The Seahawks will face the Chicago Bears on November 2 at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The Chiefs face the Denver Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET. General Manager Brett Veach is expected to explore options to acquire additional receiving talent before the November 10 trade deadline. The Chiefs were without Rashee Rice, who strained his right hamstring, and Tyquan Thornton, who is on injured reserve following ankle surgery. Their remaining receivers combined for six receptions for 39 yards in the loss.

Elsewhere on the Week 7 slate, the Detroit Lions defeated the Green Bay Packers, holding them to 17 points. The Lions' defense forced a turnover by Brian Branch and limited Green Bay to 5-of-15 on third down. The Packers now hold a 1-2 record against NFC North opponents. Green Bay running back Josh Jacobs returned from injury with 36 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

The Los Angeles Rams won without wide receiver Davante Adams, who is out for five to nine weeks with a hamstring injury. The offense relied on tight ends and running backs to score on four straight possessions in the first half. Kyren Williams fumbled on the team's second drive of the second half, giving him nine lost fumbles since becoming the starter in 2023.

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New Orleans Saints in the NFL's first game played in France. Jaylen Warren rushed for 101 yards on 18 carries for Pittsburgh. The Cleveland Browns defeated the Tennessee Titans, and the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy analysts noted that Patrick Mahomes scored a season-low six fantasy points. Michael Florio suggested managers avoid starting him next week against Denver if viable alternatives exist. Matt Bowen highlighted Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams as the key fantasy targets for the Rams, noting increased usage of tight ends in the absence of Adams.

The Packers will host the Carolina Panthers on Thursday at 8:25 p.m. ET. The Lions play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The Rams face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET. The Raiders travel to the New York Jets on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
