Braunfelser Beer & Wine Garden opened its doors in New Braunfels on Oct. 13.
Seth Weatherly, who also owns Five Stones Artisan Brewery, launched the business at 499 S. Castell Ave. The location previously housed Faust Brewing Company, which closed in 2025 after 16 years of operation. The new venue offers local craft brews and a tasting room.
The name derives from a German-inspired beer series that Weatherly and his team brewed in 2019. Taylor Kroeger, a representative for the business, described the moniker as a tribute to the city. "In essence, 'Braunfelser' is a love letter to our community," Kroeger said.
The property consists of three separate spaces designed for different social activities. A welcome area serves as the entry point where visitors can purchase snacks and learn about the business. The main beer garden area hosts yard games and live music for groups. A third section called the Braunfelser Capsule contains 26 seats and displays vintage beer signs and leather bar chairs.
Kroeger stated that the management aims to create a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors. "We want the New Braunfels locals to feel at home; we want the tourists to be welcomed, and we want to be a space where connections are made and memories are shared," Kroeger said.
